Tesla Megapack and Megablock: Next-Generation Utility-Scale Energy Storage

Energy Storage for Sustainable Power
Tesla Megapack is a large-scale battery solution designed to store excess energy when production is high and deliver it when the grid needs support, helping smooth out renewable energy fluctuations and strengthen grid reliability.
Efficient Operation and Longevity
Megablock, Tesla's new medium-voltage unit, is engineered for 20 MWh AC output, supporting over 10,000 charge/discharge cycles with an impressive lifespan of 25 years.
High Efficiency and Broad Operating Range
With a round-trip efficiency of 91%—even factoring in auxiliary power—Megablock operates reliably in climates from -40°C to 60°C, making it suitable for diverse locations.
Fast Installation and Cost Savings
Megablock is 23% quicker to install and can cut construction costs by up to 40%, making large energy projects more affordable and time-efficient.
Dense Energy Storage Footprint
On a per-acre basis, sites can achieve a remarkable energy density of 248 MWh AC while meeting all necessary safety and service clearance requirements.
Cutting-Edge Technology Integration
Each Megablock utilizes the newest Megapack 3, featuring a proven inverter, advanced fire safety, a simplified thermal bay (78% fewer connections), and the latest battery cells sourced globally.
Robust Manufacturing and Delivery Timeline
With an annual production capability of 50 GWh, Tesla plans to begin deliveries of Megablock units in the latter half of 2026.
Advanced Software and Fleet Management
Tesla provides specialized software and operational services, already monitored and optimized across a global network handling more than 36 GWh of energy storage.
