Publish a Blog Post Straight from Your AI Assistant

Most writing workflows lose time in the handoff. You draft somewhere, copy it out, paste it into a CMS, fix the formatting, then publish. With Tilnote's MCP connector the draft never leaves the conversation — the assistant writes it directly into the publish call.

One call, not three

The publish_note tool creates and publishes in a single step when you do not pass an existing note ID. Ask for what you want and the assistant handles the rest:

Write a post about why database indexes stop helping past a certain size, and publish it.

You get back a public URL. That is the whole loop.

If you already have a draft sitting in Tilnote, pass its ID instead and the same tool publishes it in place.

Always pass a summary

The summary field becomes your meta description and the text on social cards. Without it, search engines fall back to whatever the first couple of sentences happen to be, which is rarely the sentence you would have chosen.

A shape that works well: one headline sentence, then three short bullet lines. Keep it plain text — no headings, no markup.

Guardrails you will actually hit

Publishing is deliberately more restricted than saving a draft:

• Daily limit. There is a cap on posts per day, shared with the web editor so you cannot dodge it by switching tools. The response tells you how many you have left.

• Minimum length. Very short posts are rejected. The error tells you both your current length and the threshold.

• Search indexing delay. New accounts do not get an immediate indexing ping. Posts still publish and still appear on your blog — only the active "please crawl this now" request is held back for a while.

None of these are silent. Each one comes back as a readable message explaining what happened and what to do.

Undoing a publish

Two different tools, for two different intentions:

• unpublish_note flips the post back to private. The content survives. Search engines will keep showing it until they re-crawl.

• delete_note removes it entirely, and requires explicit confirmation before it runs.

Reach for unpublish first. It is the reversible one.
